Rugby Literary Festival 2025
Sunday 3-5 October 2025
Following the inaugural event last year Rugby Literary Festival is set to return to the town centre from Friday 3 till Sunday 5 October.
Organisers Rugby First, in partnership with local author Lindsay Woodward and a variety of other groups and organisations, are planning to build on the success of last year by expanding the literary offer and are keen to hear from anyone who is interested in organising an event as part of the festival.
The festival promises a fun, informative, creative and educational packed programme of storytelling, workshops, book fairs, authors, discussion panels, competitions, street art, dressed windows, and much more! Whether you’re an established writer or just have a love of books there is something for everyone.
Also this year, we are delighted to announce that we have secured funding from Tritax Big Box and they will be sponsoring a special Family Day on Sunday 5th October. With free workshops, a story trail and giveaways for children, the festival is focused on all age ranges and abilities.
Linda Lowne, Rugby First Business Director said: “Last year’s festival proved extremely popular and attracted both local people and visitors from further afield. The festival is a great way to shine a light on the town as well as support local businesses through increased footfall, spend and awareness. As well as looking for people to organise events or be part of the Book Fair as part of the programme we are also looking for local businesses to host events and dress their windows so in either case please get in touch.”
Linda continued: “I would like to say a special thank you to all those individuals, groups and businesses who have already signed up to the festival and to the Rokeby Lions for providing volunteers and event hosts for the festival”.
Lindsay said: “I am thrilled that the festival is returning again as it proved so popular last year, and I would like to thank Rugby First, Rugby Borough Council and Tritax Big Box for helping to make this happen. This year’s theme will be The Lost Chapter, and the programme is already bigger than last year’s, and with so much more variety. No matter who you are or what your interests are, I think there is something for you.”
