Driving Footfall in Rugby town centre

To drive footfall and encourage longer dwell times, Rugby First work to deliver a calendar of events, activity and experiences throughout the year. Rugby First celebrates and champion town centre businesses and work in partnership with Rugby Borough Council and other organisations to promote the town.

Campaigns

Rugby First is the business improvement district (BID) for Rugby Town Centre. As an organisation, we support and champion local businesses, celebrating the unique and vibrant flavour they bring to our town. Thanks to the investment and involvement from our levy payers, we're helping to create a better Rugby: one that's more caring, more welcoming, safer, cleaner, wonderfully diverse and better promoted.

By encouraging people to explore our lively town, we aim to build community and increase foot traffic for local businesses. Campaigns like our Business Spotlight series across social media help promote local businesses by showcasing their unique products and services, alongside national events like Small Business Saturday. Our ‘Let's go to town’ campaign also highlighted the many reasons to visit the town centre, with its varied offer of shopping, dining, entertainment and leisure activities.

Safer Rugby

Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of everyone in the town centre has always been high on our agenda. Rugby First is committed to improving the security of our town and continues to strengthen business resilience through key partnerships with our community partners.

Rugby First aims to make the town as safe and resilient as possible. The perception of safety is just as important to us as crime statistics.
