Rugby First and Rugby Borough Council are inviting everyone to join come into the town centre for Rugby’s first ever Fire and Ice Spectacular on Sunday 30 November.

The FREE event, which will take place between 2pm-7pm will feature a magical trail that takes you on a festive journey of discovery including ice sculptures, fire beacons, live carving shows, a carving wall, story-telling, music, dance, fire breathing, walkabout characters, festive craft activities, Father Christmas, a funfair, food, toasted marshmallows, face painting and more.

Why visit Fire and Ice

At the heart of the trail will be a series of stunning ice sculpture masterpieces that will glisten and then be beautifully transformed with a dazzling display of lights when it starts to get dark! Try your hand at ice carving, watch the spectacular ‘Fire and Ice‘ show, enjoy some amazing photo-opportunities or write and post your letter to Santa in our frozen post box.

Follow the fire beacons around the trail and enjoy more magical surprises - fire pits and toasted marshmallows, Christmas Tales in a yurt, fire breathing, a living nativity, The Snowman movie, hot chocolate, mulled wine and Santa’s Grotto. There will also be plenty of make and take festive activities including writing a letter to Santa, creating your own Christmas card, icing a gingerbread tree decoration, and making your own angel lantern decoration.

Don’t miss out on the festive music and dance that includes traditional carols under the Christmas lights of St Andrews and Rugby Baptist Church, and look out for Father Christmas, Jack Frost and mischievous elves as you travel the trail.

Ice Trail Sculptures

Unleash the magic. Get painted with some holiday magic. Our brushes are ready for all the little elves, reindeer, and snowmen! Come find us for a dash of festive face painting fun.

Juggling Jim - Alfie the Elf Walkabout

Alfie the Elf (Santa's favourite) will be in town checking who's been naughty and who's been good. He'll be riding his reindeer and teaching bell ringing so come and say hello.

Join us for a truly enchanting experience at our Santa's Grotto. Wander through a festively decorated wonderland, enjoy the sights and sounds of the season, and have a special one-on-one with Santa himself.

Fire & Ice Carving Shows

These performances are high intensity and include fireworks, fire and ice with music pumping and crowds rocking. Each show last 15 minutes and is choreographed with music and solely created with Chainsaws and Die Grinders.

Fire Shows

A one woman fire performance with the Cosmic Faerie herself! She offers fire dancing with a variety of props including, poi, levitation wand and rope dart. This is then followed with body burning, fire eating and fire breathing.

LED Flow Art Shows

LED arts performance. The LED performance features a costumed artist offering dazzling LED effects.

St Andrews Church Gardens

Gingerbread man tree decoration

Get into the festive spirit with our Gingerbread Man Tree Decoration Workshop, a delightful activity for kids and families. Using MDF cutouts, paint pens, and plenty of imagination, you’ll design and decorate your own cheerful gingerbread man ornament to hang on your Christmas tree. This hands-on session is perfect for all ages, encouraging creativity and family fun while adding a personal touch to your festive decorations. All materials are provided, just bring your smiles and festive cheer.

Christmas Angel lanterns

Join us for a fun and festive Christmas Angel Lantern Workshop,  a perfect activity for kids and families to enjoy together! Using delicate doily paper, you’ll create your very own glowing angel-shaped lantern to take home. All materials will be provided, and no prior crafting experience is needed — just bring your imagination and festive spirit.

Tom the Tale Teller Phillips Storytelling Wintery Stories

Christmas has always been a time to sit around the fire, warming up from the ice outside, and tell each other stories. From heart-warming traditional tales of far-off frozen lands, to a Christmas ghost story, there is nothing better than gathering around and listening to a tale or two as the sun sets and the long night begins. Join award-winning storyteller, Tom the Tale Teller, as he regales stories fit for a winter's afternoon, that will entertain and delight the whole family, young and old, inside his cosy Tale Telling Tent.

Fire Pits and Toasted Marshmallows

Gather 'round the fire, sweetness awaits." Join in with the simple pleasure of roasting marshmallows around a warm, glowing fire pit.

Stop by at the post box to write a letter to Santa, and have a go at making a Christmas card. Led by a local artist, chose from one of three festive designs to make. Suitable for 3-12 year olds.
