Markets
We have two markets in Rugby our long standing Open Market and our more recent Farmers Market.
Open market

Open Market
Our open market has been trading in Rugby under Royal Charter since 1235. It moved on the 28th November 2002 to its new site which would you believe is in Market Place, right in the centre of the Town. The move coincided with a desire to change the product profile and to improve the overall ambience. The product list includes fresh meat and fish, vegetables, quality clothing, jewellery, luggage and a whole host of other interesting offers.
The market is open three days a week Monday, Friday and Saturday from 8.30am to 4.00pm. Our aim is to provide the products that people want in a good old-fashioned atmospheric market environment where customer service really means something to our stallholders. Anyone interested in having a stall on the market should contact Robin Richter or Julie Fairgrieve on 01788 572150.
Farmers market
Farmers Market
The Farmers market is a recent addition to the Town centre and like our Open market moved into Market Place on the 25th of November 2002. All the products all produced sold at this market are fresh farm products from within 30 miles of Rugby with the stallholders being farmers and families or their employees who have intimate knowledge of their product. The emphasis here is very much on quality and freshness and of course our farmers take great pride in selling what they actually produce. Products vary from meat and cheese, fresh produce, bakery products, trout, honey, pickles and preserves to all manner of other interesting offers. So if you like your carrots so fresh that they still have the dirt on them then this is the market for you.
The market is held the last Thursday of every month, from 9.00 a.m. - 2.00 p.m. except December - which will vary according to when Christmas Day falls.
